Todd Gustafson
My wife Helen and I moved to Kearney in the summer of 1976 with our sons Trevor and Andrew. I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and attended Northwest Missouri State University. In 1970 I enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and attended Aviation Electrician Training in Jacksonville Florida. Following training I was assigned to Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii where I was a HC-130 flight engineer until Honorable Discharge in October 1974. I enrolled at Northwest Missouri State in January 1975 to complete my degree in Marketing and Business Administration.
I have been involved with great companies in my 47 years in the commercial fire alarm systems and emergency communications industry in all 50 states as well as international markets. I have been a member of national and international organizations including NFPA, SFPE, AFAA, CAFAA, NICET, NIFAD, UL, ULC and many others.
Since living in Kearney, I have served on the Kearney School Board and the Kearney Fire and Rescue Protection District Board of Directors since 1999. We enjoy keeping up with our family and the activities of our 6 grandkids. Our eldest son Trevor is employed by Burns & McDonnell and our younger son Dr. Andrew Gustafson is the Principal at Kearney High School.
