CPR Training & First Aid Classes

Why People Take Our Local CPR & First Aid Classes

When a medical emergency occurs, you may be the first responder on the scene. Car accidents, heart attacks, worksite incidents—without someone nearby who knows how to help, .things can go from bad to the very worst.

However, there are heroes walking among us. They’re the people who take CPR and First Aid Classes through KFRPD They want to help their community, their family, and their friends get immediate help when accidents happen.

What Our CPR Training & First Aid Classes Teach

Community Training:

The Kearney Fire & Rescue Protection District is committed to having a community that is trained in CPR/AED/First Aid and equipped to handle a sudden cardiac arrest situation, which can be the difference between surviving or not. Our Community Training program focuses on ways to grow the readiness in our community to handle a cardiac arrest episode and maybe save the life of someone that you know.

Class Locations:

  • Community Classes /Schedule – KFRPD Station 1, located at 201 E. 6th Street Kearney, MO.
  • Heartsaver CPR/AED – Held the first Wednesday of every month (unless a holiday) at 6 p.m.
  • Heartsaver First Aid – Held the second Wednesday of every month (unless a holiday) at 6 p.m.
  • Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) programs increase access to CPR training and place Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) throughout a community. Bystanders then have access to lifesaving equipment to initiate aid prior to the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Our First Aid course trains participants on First Aid basics for the most common emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills.
  • All courses reflect science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and the 2020 American Heart Association/Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid.

Courses Offered:

  • Family & Friends® CPR + Pediatric First Aid
  • Family & Friends® CPR for Adolescents (10 to 15 years)
