Special Operations   

The Fire Service is often called upon to handle much more than just put out fires or help the sick and injured. We often go to specialized training to be able to handle a wide variety of problems, here are just a few.

Rescue - This involves several areas of expertise, Trench Rescue, High Angle Rescue and Vehicle Rescue. We do carry some equipment for each of these on our first out Engine, and we carry Auto Extrication equipment on our Quint and our other Engine.

Hazardous Materials (Haz-Mat) - Most of our personnel are trained up to Haz-Mat Operations and a few are trained as Haz-Mat Technicians. We are part of a regional Haz-Mat Team (Northland Fire Chiefs), we provide manpower and we also house a specialized trailer that contains a Generator, water heaters and portable lights. Other departments have specialized trailers as well.
